So if Japan wins, Greeks are out? Because of the goal difference, right?

I believe  Japan had -1 goal and Greece -3 before the games started so that it would be really hard for Greece to score enough goals if Japan wins. 

I think even a lottery is possible if Greece would win 3:0 and Japan 2:1 lol
