Why DayZ isn't going to be finished as quickly as everybody would like

Comments1

When will DayZ be finished? It’s a simple question, but there’s a good reason Dean Hall and friends can’t provide a simple answer: the idea of what a finished DayZ might look like grows bigger all the time.

“I think to a certain extent it’s a case of ‘beware what you wish for’,” Hall told PCGamesN. “When you look at the evolution of plans of DayZ, there’s been more plans than days in the year, you know? Every time it can’t get any crazier or bigger than this it gets bigger.”

Cow Simulator 2014 heralds the Divinity: Original Sin toolkit on Steam Early Access

Comments1

Divinity: Original Sin comes packaged with what Larian are calling the first multiplayer game editor since Neverwinter Nights. They’re presumably not familiar with the work of Nadeo on their various Manias, then - but Divinity is certainly the first RPG in a long while to enable an infinite network of modular campaigns like Neverwinter’s.

That’s ludicrously exciting - a fact Larian have chosen to express by building a sample module named Cow Simulator 2014.

Here today: Diablo 3's Auction House will be gone tomorrow

Comment

Diablo 3’s often criticised Auction House will finally be removed from reality by Blizzard tomorrow. It was effectively disabled back in March, but the Auction House window remained available so that players could retrieve items and gold from previous transactions.

As of tomorrow, that function will also be removed. And it will be gone for good. Any items and gold remaining in the Completed tab will also disappear for good; so empty it now if you’ve got anything in there.

Square Enix updates 14-year-old Final Fantasy VIII with lots of cheats

Comments1

Final Fantasy VIII was released over 14 years ago on PC. Square Enix have decided to give it an update, possibly thanks to increased attention after becoming available on Steam late last year.

Squall, Seifer and all their SEED chums will benefit from what are, effectively, cheats. Those roguish teens, never playing by the rules. What will they get up to next?

Ubislow no more? Assassin's Creed Unity to launch on all platforms simultaneously

Comments3

It’s gotten to the point where expecting a simultaneous release of Assassin’s Creed across consoles and PC is folly. We always end up waiting while our console brethren enjoy running across roofs and jumping on folk like a predatory cat.

But Ubisoft are looking to fix this unfortunate tradition and bring Assassin’s Creed Unity to PC at the same time as Xbox One and PS4. What do you think of our chances?
