Will any future Wii U release ever top Mario Kart 8's opening week in sales?

Smash, didn't it come out on Wii in spring just a bit before MK and still have a better opening? Having a higher install base and holiday to boost sales will make it the biggest opening WiiU will see in its life. 1.6m+ is entirely doable.

I do however wish it'd go to Starfox.
