So far Nintendo has not shown the willingness to grow their development capacity to the point they can generally do w out 3 rd parties - to grow thier dev capacity that much would add more risk to a conservative company

Even if they Expanded capacity it does not guarantee huge hardware sales growth as they still may not be willing and or able to produce a diverse enough library on thier own

As the industry runs now- a console needs real 3rd party support

Losing 3rd party support so soon after the Wii u launch was a disaster for the wiiu and Nintendo owns that mistake regardless how much finger pointing the fanboys will do
If the Wii u is not viable for any particular 3rd party game but it is important for the system to have it then it is up to Nintendo to make it viable.
