In what way am I ridiculous? I am comparing a combination of a spin-off and main game to a spin-off and main game. Apples to apples is the comparison most people strive for. And yes, as I mentioned earlier of course they will eat into each others sales. They are two competing products. That is why they will not launch at the same time. Square-Enix is well aware of the fact that two of their heavy hitting titles launching too close together will only hurt their bottom line. This is shown by the fact that they were/are considering delaying FFXIII because the launch was/is too close to Dragon Quest IX. If they do release it then there expectations for one of the titles is significantly lower than the other.

when did you say they will launch at different times? I also clearly stated earlier that the way I precieved these 2 games will be launched together. If they launch at different times then no they should not be counted together. That gives people enough time to play their first purchase through only to decide if they want the next,

I am sorry if this comes off too mean but I can't think of a nice way to say what must be said. Have you ever heard of reading comprehension? The two parts to bolded are in seperate sentences. The second sentence works off of what I said earlier. It is called elaborating on a point. I did it because you did not seem to catch my full meaning the first time and that is why I felt I had to go into greater detail on my thoughts. It is extremely obvious what I meant in those sentences and cannot imagine why you are trying to raise that as a point anyways.

The games cannot be counted together regardless of their launch windows though. They are two seperate and extremely different games that happen to share a brand name. There is no good reason for them to be counted together. If Square-Enix is releasing them at the same time they are either doing something extremely stupid, or expect that one game was going to completely outshine the other regardless and didn't put much effort into it. Given the details of the projects released so far I have to assume it is not the latter, and I doubt the former would as well.
