The problem I see is that this is not something gamers should even worry about. The only thing as a gamer that I care about is that I get a chance to play games I consider worth my money not which platform a company decided to put it on. The reason I say this is because games are a very risky business. Developers and publishers can eat to much risk and find themselves up for sale. As a business, things like platform exclusives, content and other stuff that we see are ways to mitigate risk, Yes in hindsight I am sure EA would have put the game on the PS system. The thing is, we do not know when the original deal was setup. Titanfall at that time definitely wasn't in a state that EA probably could have risked going full hog.

The game was made for MS platform because MS stepped up and made the investment. Sony evidently had their investments in other areas which is fine and good. Who knows how long the deal was in the original deal between EA, MS and Respawn but it probably was for the best for MS and EA to go the exclusive for this game since its a MP only game. People will just move to Titanfall 2 when it comes out instead especially if Respawn can provide a much better game.

I understand  your points for the most part, but what will convince the PlayStation community to jump on the sequel after bring shunned from the first?  And I don't understand how a MP only game was best to go exclusive.  I highly doubt it had anything to do with the azure cloud infrastructure seeing how a sequel on the ps4 won't be utilizing azure.

I believe this shunned part is your feeling.  I do not understand even having a feeling of being shunned.  Its just a game, I do not identify my feelings with what platform a game comes out on.  Instead I like to play games.  If it comes out on the system I purchase it gets the same consideration I give all games.

The reason why a MP only game goes complete exclusive instead of a year exclusive which is probably what was agreed on during the first investment by MS is that why should Respawn waste time and split development trying to get the first game out on the PS4/PS3 when they could just spend all that time doing that with the 2nd game.  WIth the money they got from the first game and MS investment, Respawn can easily now ramp up personell and spend the the development time making Titanfall 2 the game they probably wanted Titanfall one to be and also support all platforms.  As I stated before, this is a business and money does not grow on trees.  Having cash to pay your people is much better then having to ask for more money and lose control of your project.

As for Titanfall 2, who knows what backend system it will use for the PS4.  The thing is we do not even know if Titanfall 2 will come to the PS4.  If the game does come out for the PS4 then Sony will need to provide a solution for Azure or EA will have to eat the cost or Respawn will have to eat the cost.  Also EA and Respawn can still use Azure, they just will not get the deals and incentive that MS is giving for X1 games.  Azure is  platform agnostic.  The same servers can be setup to spin up a host for the PS4 just as easy as they do with the X1.  I hightly doubt that MS would turn down that money, they just will not give EA/Respawn any discounts.
