At the current rate, I believe PS3 has a decent chance of doing it, but not by much. Both PS1 and PS2 sold around 40% of their LTD sales when the sucessor was out, so it gives a decent number. 360 is more difficult because it isn't selling that much units weekly, but it will do 90M or 95M and end pretty close.

Sounds good PS3 clearly didnt live up to the potential of the PS2 and PS1 but if it beats out WII it could be the ultimate redemption for Playstation, especially with the heat they have going on with the PS4, which is destined for greatness. 

If the PS3 beats out the Wii, then it would have lived up to the potential of the PS1, in terms of sales.  The PS1 sold 102M, and for the PS3 to beat the Wii it will have to ship ~102M.

Definitely have to wait until Sony gives some kind of numbers before we know for sure.
