Seeing as home is up and running on my PS3, the potential for it is huge all they need to do is tie in games like GT (Kaz already said it will be) and you got instant success. Most that doubt home are ignorant about it or just simply wii/60 fanboys scared of its potential. Theres nothing like racing GT online then arguing some dude in GT home about what just happened. i cant wait to start all the Lexus is better then BMW or Benz arguments. |
Actually, I think the opposite: most people that think Home will be the second coming are the ignorant fanboys.
All it is is a supped up XBL Dashboard that doesn't things nearly as well for the most part. The thing that is going to bother most people is that it is going to slow (as in you have to walk or warp from location to location to do anything) and people just aren't going to like that.
Just about everyone that has a PS3 will download it and fiddle with it and it will be popular for about two months, but people are quickly going to get tired of having to walk to your apartment to play a game, walk to theater to watch a movie, walk to someone else's apartment to see their trophies, and so on.
XBL does things so much better by simply making a simple set of tabs and an easily quantifiable Gamescore rather than an overly complicated system that people aren't going to want to deal with. That's why I think the people who call Home the second coming are just plain silly.
And yeah, with the problems that I've been hearing about, I wouldn't doubt a 2009 release date which is pretty silly since they've apparently been working on it since 2005.
