I never said people would be pissed off. The question was about mainstream appeal, whom it would do the opposite of "pissing off." The question isn't who is pissed off the least, but rather how can we get more people interested? And Pokemon, by the very nature of the series, would benefit very little from hyper-naturalistic visuals, especially those we see in the OP. I personally, wouldn't mind seeing pokemon games that look like the animation, with fluid animations, clear and crisp art design, large open worlds, and overall great effects. Okami, Dragon Quest VIII, Windwaker, and Valkyria Chronicles, are all games that have succeeded with this style, and I think it works perfectly for pokemon. I've always found the style in the home console games boring (and by today's standards - ugly), and I was glad X and Y didn't follow them.
