I also would not call it open-world as it stands now, it's linear. Which is a good thing. 


I'm using Xenoblade as an example ad an open world JRPG. It's obviously purely opinion. Everything is purely opinion. Pointing out that it's purely opinion only shows that you have no legitimate agruement against that pure opinion.

And it is open world. It doesn't matter if it's liniar. GTA is open world, but still liniar. Xenoblade was open world but still linear. Ocarina of Time was open world but still linear. And it's not a "good thing." Pokemon's story isn't good enough for linearity to ever be a "good thing."
