There is no argument. They are two different genres.

One is a RPG and the other one is an Action game if you want to put it in plain terms.

Then lets call the genre "Lets walk around and hit stuff, and sometimes get new stuff to hit the moving stuff with". God, this is tiresome. tell me again, what is the different GAMEPLAY MECHANIC between those games? There is none.
