Nintendo fans arent angry, I as one can say we are happy about the success of both DS and Wii.
The problem is that Sony fans can't stand not having their consoles on first place like PS2 did, they are the angry ones making threads to bash Wii as being a gimmick/fad and gloryfying PS3 over 360 and never taking into consideration Wii is doubling its sales every week by saying "nah its not in direct competition, its a toy and you cant compare".

There are always people like that. Nintendo fans are just as guilty of it. I know most of my friends down here have been Pro-Nintendo all their lives. And when PS came along and knocked Nintendo off it's pedistal for two generations, most of my friends took whatever low blow they could at PS. Since Nintendo wasn't in first place as usual they'd say things like "The PS2 is only selling because of it's DVD player," or "The only thing Sony is good at is making TVs."

I seriously think my friends are holding a grudge against Sony for taking first place for two generations. They have a deep hate for Sony and pretty much defaulted to supporting HD-DVD because Sony was a big supporter for Blu-ray. I guess I can understand that grudge though. Anyway, there are always people like that. It isn't just Sony fans/fanboys.

Just to point something out, a lot of the people I talked to who bought a PS2 said they did because it was a cheap DVD player.

And a lot of people I've talked to who bought a PS2 did it for the games. Point? Things aren't in black and white or consistant in every area. Some areas are concentrated, some are not. All I know is the PS2 was a major success and had a lot of good games that sold well. Was the fact it was a DVD player cause this success? No. Some people might have bought it for the DVD player, but most probably purchased it for the games. Otherwise, games wouldn't have sold as well as they did.
