Well, not that the genre ever died or, besides Myst, was that much popular in mainstream for starters. There's still quite a few games released yearly in the genre, but then again, it did suffer a lot more than classic P&C adventures.
I do wish someone matching Riven, but honestly, from what I've seen so far, Witness is not that game.
