SMB3 is my favourite. Dynamic maps (enemies traversing around on it) and Toad houses. Don't know why they took it away in SMW.
Super Mario World has great stuff too, like secret exits (a really cool feature). Overall Super Mario Bros. 3 is more varied, and in my opinion has better controls. But both are amazing.
