I read the entire OP but I have got to go to sleep right this minute so I will just tell you this...
I agree wholeheartedly with all of what you stated.
Maybe tomorrow I will scroll through some of the counter arguments. I'm not opposed to changing my views if someone presents a good enough case. But for now, I think you're spot on.
