Sitting on the edge of my seat anticipating a monster popping out at any moment trying to scare me. I get too worn out playing those games. I like to play stealthy in games and stealthy dont' work in those games, cause the enemy only pops out at you, you can't sneak up on it. So my stealthy play just further builds the tension and wears me out. I could play say mario kart for 4 hours and have a blast the whole time and be ready to do anything else afterwards, whether play another game, shoot hoops, go for a jog, watch tv, ect. After 1 hour of RE game i'm tired and worn out and want to just lay there and relax, lol. So even though heard goodt hings and sounds like great deal, Horror games are not for me. Too stressful. |
You should try some of the Silent Hill or Fatal Frame games. They will make RE4 feel like New Super Mario Bros.

Well I make the games scarier than they are. I move around slow and search the screen like I'm trying to spot something hidden. It's like a constant youtube prank where you are trying to see something hidden and then a ghost pops out and scares you.
Now i don't go screaming or anything, I just am on tense and suspense the whole time. It's just tiring.
Oddly movies don't do that to me at all. Guess that's the immersion of games working there.
