It would require some work on Nitnendo's end. They have to patch out a lot of games that require it to even start. Pikmin 3 won't begin unless the gamepad is on. Mario Karts map would have to be patched into the main game screen etc. Majority of the main menu options would have to also be moved to the TV. What about 3rd parties? Will they comply and make a patch to remove it. If it requires the game to start. Kinect at least wasn't integral to main games. Nor the system UI controls.
