That's not a good argument. It's up to 3rd parties to build their own market on Nintendo consoles. Let's just say Ubisoft did build a market, but not the one it seems they want at the moment. If Ubisoft Montreal made a big-budget exclusive for the U, I would shut my mouth right now. |
Ubisoft Montreal didn't make a big-budget exclusive for 360, XBO, PC, PS3 or PS4 either, why should they for Wii U?
And do you really think, Ubisoft didn't try to build a market for the Wii U? That they treated Wii U worse than other consoles at launch?
- 360 got 1 Ubisoft game at launch, not exclusive
- PS3 got 1 Ubisoft game at launch, not exclusive
- Wii U got 7 Ubisoft games at launch, 2 of them exclusives
- PS4 got 2 Ubisoft games at launch, not exclusive
- XBO got 3 Ubisoft games at launch, 1 of them a very very bad exclusive
In the year after launch, Wii U still got a fair amount of Ubisoft games... more than 360 or PS3 after their launches.
Ubisoft has been more patient than any other third party developer... but even they have now faced the reality that their past efforts didn't repay themselves.
Can anyone blame them to focus on other platforms now? (That's a rhetorical question, obviously the Nintendo fans are quite comfortable to blame anyone else than Nintendo for the current third-party-situation.)
