If Capcom was doing great, they wouldn't be in this position. Capcom is pretty huge and has a lot of problems internally. Nintendo taking all of that on would likely not be the greatest idea and be a pretty big mess for them to clean up. I agree that Nintendo needs more dev studios and Capcom's IPs would be great, but the downside is too strong to take this all on. There is also the fact that this would be a takeover, which may go against the wishes of many of Capcom's staff, so who knows how long they would stick around. Like I said, if Capcom was willing to downsize and sell a dev studio and a few IPs, Nintendo should jump on that, but I don't think Capcom is in that position just yet... |
If anyone at Capcom would quit over Nintendo buying the company. That would be really stupid thinking. I can understand people quiting at Rare, because they make Kinect games now. But Nintendo wouldn't just ruin games for no reason. These people stuck around with all the Megaman Resident evil mess ups and hate. They'd have no reason to assume Nintendo would become tyrants.
