I don't think WiiU will ever catch up to the GameCube and there is a real chance X1 will stay under XB. Looks like PS4 will barely break the 100 million as well. The market is just smaller these days, probably because last gen consoles are not out for the count yet, PC's are much better for gaming than they were 10 years ago and casuals are harder to attract because of all the mobiel devices that could be gamed on.

Stay under from this point forward or lifetime? Cos it's ahead 500k so far.

I think it will outperform the original lifetime, as Microsoft still has a better fanbase outside of the US today compared to when they just launched their first console. But it will stay under Lifetime in the US or just barely beat it. And yes it will stay under from this point forward in it's lifetime until it gets to under the 300 dollar mark. The original XB was not as expensive when it pulled those numbers.

Fair enough. I think all things considered, the fact XB1 has beaten XB for the first 6 months of its life despite being $499 shows great potential for it. Certainly don't think their userbase in the US is gonna drop from 44m~ (360) to 16m or less, lifetime, even with increased competition.

The same thing could be said about Wii U in terms of price considering its still $299-329 compared to Gamecube being $149 at this point in its life and just a few months away from reaching $99. I dont personally think it will pass GC in US but it has a better shot at doing so once it reaches $199.

I agree with u tho about Xbox One outselling Xbox, it will likely have a longer lifespan than Xbox but shorter than 360. It also probably wont recieve a massive mid gen boost like 360 did with Kinect so I would say 25-30 million lifetime with Wii U at 8 million give or take a mil or so.
