Sony's PS4's first real test will be June sales!

1. before the reveal "everyone" would have told you sony couldn't possibly compete with xbox. xbox's superiour online experience was suppose to be just too advanced for sony to catch up, ms was suppose to have tons of money to buy up exclusives, and ms was suppose to have the nod on bringing in causuals thanks to their innovative use of kinect and abilility to incorporate new entertainment experiences.  sony was suppose to be unorganized, lack the ability to form a vision of what they wanted playstation to be, and be so crippled with debt that the hardware was going to be subpar and expensive.
2. at launch xbox had 180'd most of their major issues.  ms was suppose to come out of the reveal scandals unsathed because "sony owns the internet" and "the internet doesn't represent the mainstream".   we were waiting for the "truth to come out" about ms's "secret sauce" because ms has "the best developers in the world" and would never let sony have a "30% power advantage".  playstation was probably not going to fail anymore but xbox was going to keep pace especially in the US and UK where xbox had those regions "on lock".  things were going to be even but xbox had the advantage as ps4 was really just a ps3.5 and ms was the only one trying to do more by being the world's first all in one "entertainment console" with important new features like HDMI in.  it was going to be subsidized by comcast and the likes as a cable box afterall.
3. then titanfall came.  oh sure it looked like ps4 was doing great but just you wait and see,.. once the initial demand was covered and ps4 was fully stocked demand is going to collapse.  it's just ps3 fanboys upgrading anyways as no xbox 360 owner would ever buy a ps4.  they just weren't upgrading as fast because the 360 was just such a great console compared to that PoS ps3.  titanfall is the "first true next gen title" people are going to upgrade now.   titanfall will show off the power of the cloud and justify why sony's psn could never touch ms's 300,000 server strong cloud.  the US/UK are going to dramatically shift back in ms's favor because they the most important genre to english speaking people is competitive online multiplayer.  infamous can't even compare.
4. In progress: the removal of kinect to get price parity.  we'll see but the evidence so far doesn't look like it has changed much.
5. Coming Soon: the launch in teir 2 countries and china.
6. Halo? Gears? Something else?

this isn't sony's first test, this is xbox's last chance to prove it can be competitive.
