My wishlist so far for Splatoon:

...

- Map making (This one is a big stretch, I don't really expect to see this)

Is it really though? Halo: Reach had a map maker -- and that came out years ago.

If Nintendo wants to hoist Splatoon up as the platform's leading shooting  game, a map maker is well worth the the effort.

Content creation is a big underlying theme to many of Nintendo's other e3 games. Mario Maker, Mario vs Donkey Kong, Art Academy U, Pushmo World(which came to the WiiU eshop recently). All these games feature content creation and I think give us some of most compelling uses of the GamePad. Splatoon of course already has some cool gamepad features, but if a map maker is included and the game sells... gamepad == vindicated. That's certainly a task at the forefront of Nintendo's collective mind.

Hmm, I guess so, yeah. I haven't even realised that Nintendo has been fairly welcome to map making recently.
