Am I the only one who thinks the N64 would be a Nintendo-Philips system? I mean, Nintendo gave up on the Sony SNES CD, because they thought Sony was asking too much. Then they gave up on Philips and this "CD non-sense" altogether. If they continued their deal with Philips, wouldn't that partnership still stand during the N64...?

Anyway, the PS1 had a two-year head start. That's a MASSIVE advantage. Granted, at least Square would probably stick to Nintendo, so it would have been much closer, as the PS1 wouldn't have one of its biggest system sellers. Maybe MGS would also be a N64 game...? Hard to tell. As a consequence, the PS2 wouldn't be as dominant, the Wii wouldn't exist as we know it today...

No hope for Sega though. They still would've died. Xbox would exist too as well.
