Didn't you just state that the Xbox 360 is 4-5 times stronger than the Wii and you don't think the downgrade won't be significant? Now, do people underestimate the Wii's graphical performance? Perhaps but you really overestimate if you think the polygon count for the Wii is 300 million theoretical. But anyways, see it from a developer's perspective. Which is easier? Taking a PS2 game and make some upgrades for the Wii or taking a PS3 game and make some serious downgrade when porting to the Wii? Secondly, also remember that some Xbox 360 games have trouble running at 720p and had its resolution scaled down. So a good compromise would be to just develop Wii games at 600p and upscale it to 720p. |
Um, just , because teh 305/ps3 is 4-5 times more powerful doesn't mean that the power is being used to the full capacity. Also if the theoretical polygon count is 6 times on average better than the ingame one why not 300. That isn't too far. Most xbox 360 games that have trouble running at 720p are games that were poorly developed, meaning the code isn't too efficient. Also if the wii could output 720p they would still have to downgrade, but not as much as in 480p. Also what is going to happen when the ps2 dies? Where are they going to port from? ALso fazz even said that the wii could do some 1st gen 360 games with no compromise. The reason why the wii is underestimated is how people compare it with the PS2 the weakest system last gen. The believe it is impossible for the wii to have graphics equivalent to older 360 games, and it is just a gamecube 1.5 when it is more.
