Have you actually played Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 (yes)..? Really doesn't sound like it. The PS3 and 360 couldn't possibly (exaggeration) reproduce the likes of them without downgrades in poly count for the models (no), disabling v-synch (true on PS3, maybe not on 360) and downgrading the lighting (Lighting in Forza 4 says no).

Both Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 are deceptively (XD) throwing around A LOT (exaggeration) of polys. Each playable character model is high poly (no), the enemy models/karts are high poly models (extra no), the large enemies and large animated models are all high poly (smh) and the Double Cherry power up throws in even more polys into the mix (????). (I play fairly close on a 24" LED PC monitor, I know what high poly models look like [via my PC games] and these are not high poly. Some of the crowds are downright offensive in 2014. ).

Just have a look at how damned ROUND everything is (cause 360 games are square right? My avatar is from a PC game ported straight from the XBox 360 right down to textures and I dont see many straight edges. Stop equating roundness to polygon counts). The models in Mario Kart 8 aren't as impressive as the ones in Super Mario 3D World for obvious reasons but there's still a VERY(exaggerated) impressive amount of polys being thrown around all the same.

You really need to get this nonsense that the Wii U has '7th gen' tech out of your head (this perception will last to the end of this gen, no escaping this as long as titles like Child of Light exist. With no CPU bottleneck to speak of it falls down to the GPU having no substancial performance advantage to speak or else it would have been 792,800 or 900p), the GPU and CPU are brand new (context, the Intel HD 4000 is also "brand new") custom made chips. Latte has a DX11-equivalent feature set (yes but means next to nothing without the power to run the said DX11 features. Show me tesselation, HBAO, A million particle effects, thousands of instanced trees or grass and volumetric smoke in any Nintendo game please) for starters and Espresso isn't, contrary to popular belief, 3 x Broadways duct-taped together (numerous developers have gone on record stating that the CPU is not impressive by modern standards, as the Espresso wasnt impressive when the Wii launched. Every game with FPS issues on the Wii U is a direct result of the CPU. Sure it can do SOME things faster but its also slower in other things. The CPUs of the competion isnt blazing fast either but they have higher clocks and more cores).

Like I've already said, what we've seen from Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Bayonetta 2 shouldn't be possible (RAM alone makes all of that possible, do you think the best looking 360 and PS3 games wouldnt look much better with an extra 512mb of RAM available to them? Did the Nintendo 64s memory pack overclock the GPU? No, but it allowed more detailed and larger worlds. Its not rocket science, saying the WiiUs GPU is on par with last gen performance (not features) is not beyond the realm of possiblility given everything on display). There's A LOT more going on under the hood that we're completely unaware of (magic fairy dust).

Project CARS is going to be the litmus test (yes), it's the first third party title for the Wii U where an equal amount of effort has gone into it compared to other versions (sure). It isn't going to look as good as the other versions (yes) but it isn't going to look a generation apart from them either (wont hold my breath, as a realistic racer I'll compare it to Grid Autosport and Forza Horizon 2 on the 360).

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine
