The reason PS3 does not have the Japanese game support that PS2 did

Come on outlaw, the Wii has tons of Japanese games announced. In fact, Nintendo itself is a Japanese developer, who has made two Japanese RPGs for the system, and they are amongst the best games this gen. Fire Emblem: RD, and Super Paper Mario. Not to mention Tales 2, Fragile, Baroque(might suck, but at least its a jrpg, PS3 ain't got one).

Now, I remember when the PS2 first launched. It sucked. The only RPG out was The Summoner which I bought. I bought a PS2 for Final Fantasy X. I think a lot of people did. I don't think FFXIII is the system seller X was, as the FF name has been tarnished since the PS1 era hype that propelled the PS2 into selling like it did.

Anyway, back to my point. The PS2 didn't have any good JRPG's for a while either, but it made up for it with awesome new IP's right off the bat, like Devil May Cry 1 and Onimusha, two very Japanese centered Capcom games that are still classics.

Let me say this, if given the choice, I would NEVER pick a ruins exploring game like Uncharted, no matter how good it is. That's just not my kind of game, period. However, because of the hype, graphically, I picked this up, and beat it. I found it to be what I thought it would be, and nothing more.

The PS3 just doesn't have what it takes to keep me interested at this time.

Right now, I'm playing Radiant Dawn on my Wii, Days of Ruin on my DS, and Grim Grimoire on my PS2.

THOSE kinds of games are what I want. They don't even have to be as good as those games, but they just have to exist, and they don't.

PS3 fanboys know this, they know. They have to resent their PS3, but they have such a deep seeded acceptance of the PS3 no matter what, that they base their love on its potential, not what it has out right now.

PS3 fanboys with anime and final fantasy avatars. Do you like FPS games? Is that the type of game you want to play? if you could pick a game to make yourself for the PS3, would it be Uncharted? Don't you want Persona 3 on your PS3? Don't you miss role playing games?

Do you not miss RPGs!?

They are out there right now, being played and they are just as good as they once were.

Sony fanboys, like it or not, are either denying themselves their RPG fix and telling themselves there are just no good RPG's out there, or they are playing their PS2. That's all there is too it.

The PS3 will eventually get FFXIII and that will spark a few new JRPG's for the system, but I think that the great JRPG generation is over for the PS3. It will get JRPG support, but not on the level of the DS, and probably equal to Wii level.

Microsoft made sure JRPG's graced its system, because they recognized the importance of them. Sony obviously didn't. I wonder if they saw gaming's future in the Orange Box and God of War, and not in Legend of Dragoon and Final Fantasy XII.

I bought a PS3 because of the PS2. So far, it sucks ass. That started off as hard for me to say. Really hard. I loved it at first, the graphics were so fresh on my big HDTV. Now, I could give a shit. I'm playing my PS2. I shoulda waited to buy a PS3 till some games came out I wanted. Right now, for the general Sony fanboy audience who loves JRPG's, and anime, it has nothing.

That's why it gets me when Sony fanboys attack the Wii for having no games, when most of you Sony fanboys would and should consider Radiant Dawn a better game than everything available on the PS3 combined, were you unbiased.

The PS2 is where its at for me. That's why people are still buying it. They want a backup unit, because they plan to play it forever, or at least until the PS3 gets some Japanese games, like every other freakin' console on earth already has.

Western games, FPS, and football, sure they're big sellers for the PS2, but not to the core audience, who originally made the thing popular. We bought it for FFX, and we're still playing it for Persona 3, Grim Grimoire, Tales of the Abyss, and Odin Sphere.

That's my opinion.
