I don't know what benefits being a mod entails (besides having more power to do things you think can to improve this site) or if campaigning to become one helps, but you can have my vote anytime, Mesoteto. I doubt this sort of thing is a democratic process, but you have my vote of confidence nonetheless...
I am curious to know how people become Mods. Some have said that expressing your interest to become one is a no-no. How the hell does ioi select Mods, then? You have to pretend you don't want to be one, cross your fingers that your name will be called out randomly and feign reluctance when accepting the designation (while inside you are jumping for joy)?
As for certain nationalities having more representation than others, well, I think that's all circumstancial. I do think it's the clarity of your ideas and your fair treatment of other members that should be important here, not where you were born or what country you are a citizen from. The internet has been a great way to trascend national borders for more than a decade, so I don't think we have to make this an issue. As long as you have a decent command of the english language, you can be from wherever, dude.
Make sure the shadow you chase is not the one you cast.
