Actualy thiking about it, i think a game is defined by how YOU play it, so for example guitar hero can easily be a casual game if your simply playing it and not worrying too much about the outcome, however if you obsess over it playing it specificaly to better your skills and to get 5* on all songs in expert mode then it becomes a hardcore game.
