Jose from IGN said in the video that it was mostly a very early tech demo, it didn't have any polish, didn't even have a "nintendo touch" to it, and lastly, he said he asked if it was going to become a full game, which Nintendo replied with that they were looking for an outside developer to do the hard work (design and programming).
