If I were Nintendo's CEO:
-I would look for some diamond in the rough development teams to acquire. Platinum is well known by hardcore gamers, but its games never sell that great. I'd imagine that wouldn't cost too much.
-I would acquire or invest in some Western studios to produce the kind of games Westerners like. I'd give the bro-dudes the dark, gritty FPS they demand.
-I would give Reggie Fils-Aime and NOA a longer leash and make him more than just a glorified cheerleader. Who understands the American market and people better than Americans? Same with NOE. Perhaps sending people who don't need translators to talk to big third party publishers would help everyone to see eye-to-eye a little more.
-The VC wouldn't be such a joke. The Wii U wouldn't be trying to catch up with the Wii's VC. You'd have some N64 and GC games already. Every week, you'd be guaranteed at least one game from each legacy Nintendo console from NES-N64, with at least one GC and DS game per month, and a few Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation and Wii games sprinkled in. Games that are a pain in the ass to acquire like Xenoblade or anything Fire Emblem would be available for you to download already.
3DS owners wouldn't be wondering why GBA and DS games are only going to Wii U, and Wii U owners wouldn't be wondering why NES and SNES games are only going to 3DS; they'd be on both, at the same time. Speaking of...
Crossbuy, if it's not implemented already, then I would let you know via Nintendo Direct that it's coming, and we're aiming for __ quarter of ___ year. I wouldn't refund anyone who already double dipped, but would consider giving out a percentage of eShop credit for those that have done so to spare us some backlash.
-I'd make the digital deluxe promotion a permanent thing, and offer a few more free games via Club Nintendo.
-I'd implement an achievement system to have parity with Sony and MS. It would help give third party games on my consoles a fighting chance.
I'm sure I'll think of more later.
