Wii U sales prove they really do need 3rd parties though. And the longer they wait before they try and get 3rd party support the harder it becomes.

Also buying Sega and/or Capcom certainly wouldn't be easy, it's not like going down to the shop and buying a loaf of bread. There is plenty of paperwork, time and money involved. Not to mention some shareholders may not want to sell, and if anyong attempted to buy them out there may also be competition.

And Nintendo would screw up Resident Evil even more than Capcom already have, not make it better.

Even when the Wii U had third party support it was failing, so I don't see how its current poor (but slowly improving) sales are an indication of the importance of third parties now.

I doubt anyone stuck with Capcom or Sega would object to Nintendo taking the reins, and Capcom/Sega aren't exactly the powerhouses they were a few generations ago, so I doubt Sony, who's not exactly the most stable financially atm, is going to get into a serious bidding war with Nintendo over them. I'm also well aware that it's not like purchasing bread at the market, I thought it was obvious that easy was meant in relative terms.

Also, have you seen Resident Evil 6? Nobody could ruin that series harder than Capcom has done. There's only so low a series can get before it plows into the ground. And you think Nintendo would ruin it? How many games in recent years has Nintendo produced that were even 1/10 as bad as that steaming pile Capcom laid in a game case and called RE6? I can't even recall one.
