Mario Kart is a huge series, but it's also dependant on the system it releases on. MKDD!! did a good bit for GameCube, but the GameCube still flopped. On the other hand, MKWii did a lot. Why? Its a game that transcend Nintendo's console failures. Its not just one game, it tends to be the game.
