The Wii stopped shipiments in Japan. Its still selling in NA and Europe. Also you realize that for the PS3 to last 3-4 years that would give it a longer life then the PS2? That's really not going to happen. The sales dropped off massively since the PS4 launched its only doing 40k a week now and this time last year it was probably 150k a week even in May. Also its not winning if you need 6 extra years just to match or just barly beat the Wii. The generation is already over anyway. |
First. Wii ALMOST stopped shipments, it barely sells since 2014 started.
Second. If PS3 lasts 3-4 more years until 2017-2018 that would be 11-12 years since 2006, the same as PS2 (2000-2012).
Third. I never said this will mean "PS3 won the generation", just the fact that it will overtake Wii. PS2 sold around 50m after PS3 launched. PS3 doesn't need to sell at the same rate to reach 100-105 million.
But if you want to know my opinion....If console A still sells after console B disappeared, it's a problem for console B. If console A ends selling more, that's a fact. You can consider whatever you want then. To me, the one who sold most lifetime, wins the "sales war" argument. To me, PS3 won the "games war" argument anyway years ago.....
