I'm afraid the game will turn out to be a waste of effort commercially. Obviously, it looks good and for those that want it it'll be good and they shouldn't care, but I don't really don't think this venture is going to be worthwhile for Nintendo.
I'd consider it not a flop if it gets past 500k, though I don't know what the budget is of course, and I'm skeptical if it would make that number. I do hope I'll get proven wrong! I am a little more optimistic now that they're porting the first game over to go along with the new game, that should entice some newcomers I'd say.
