Well, 4 games are obviously a better value, but I'm not interested in playing Halo, so personally I'd go for The Last of Us, if I had to choose.

The same for me. The halo collection is massive, and the serie sold a lot more than TLOU, so we can say it's a better deal... but basically, I don't care about or like Halo, and I don't even own a XOne ! I think that's quite a point for the XOne fans that try to show that "we have better games, better deals". If you are in Europe, the console is a flop, you don't own it, and the major licenses are not really that big, so I think for lot of people it doesn't really change a thing.

There's a lot of halo fans that the same could be said for about TLOU, they may not like it, and live halo, so it's a much better deal, and packed with the games they love. It's a point for ps4 fans that say "we have a better game, because it's received 200 game of the year awards, and that makes it a better deal!".... See how rediculous that is? Obviously both games will appeal to fans of their respective sytem, and games. No need to downplay either game, but, having said that, halo is much much bigger than TLOU. Don't jump on me either, I'm a huge fan of TLOU, and think it deserves sales in the 10-15 million range. I never honestly cared for halo, but there is no doubt of that series impact, that of which if far larger than TLOU will ever be.

In fact, that's what I wanted to say first. There is a factual value for the package I agree about (4 games, remaster of older games, series' value, that's great), but overall, it's still a feeling about the game. Like you said, if you like more Halo, if you don't like TLOU, the Halo collection has just more value. I really loved TLOU myself, but I don't really care about doing it again for better graphics and framerate, so I'm not even saying it's a great deal.
About the second point, what I mean is that it's not just about having value for a game "see, we have great games, greater games". It's also about having a broad public to play it, which means a good launch, PR, buzz, etc., and it's also about the game impact. Overall, the Halo serie had a lot greater impact, and the serie is a lot bigger, but for example in Europe, it's not a so big serie, and with flat sales of XOne, on average, it's not the best deal for most people. In Japan, I mean, the console is not even for sale, and nobody knows Halo (I'm not sure TLOU would do better anyway).
