Yeah, those are possible too. Actually, both of them wouldn't be that hard to perform with a bit of optimization. What I mean is, look at Mario Galaxy. Its a quite shader-intensive game and it runs at 60fps without hiccups. It could afford to run at a higher resolution at half the framerate... or probably the same. But don't expect things like Bioshock (or other games with top of the line visuals) plus 720p without some downgrading. The weakest spot of the Wii's hardware is the size and bandwidth of it's RAM. It has around 1/5 the size and around 1/3 the bandwidth of the 360's. |
I don't see how devs have too much trouble porting multiplatform games if they don't have to be downgraded as much as people leave it to believe. Is it, because nintendo won't let them update the wii to support 720p? I see know reason nintendo would do that. It seems to me that alot of devs, and others underestimate the wii's graphical performance. They make it seem like the gap is so large when it isn't as much as they say. I really think this is an excuse for them to just port low quality ps2 games or casual games that sell millions. If the wii has reached it's limit at 480p I really think they should explore 720p on the wii more. They will have to do this eventually imo to actually push the wii. It also seems weird that people think MP3 , and SMG already pushed the wii. Well thanks for giving me a better understanding of the capabilities of the wii fazz.
