Xbox has been selling as many consoles as PS3 and more software throughout the gen. The winner seems clear to me.

The PS3 has been pushing more software then the 360 for awhile now, and on a pretty consistant basis. People seem to forget that the 360 has a year lead on the PS3... what it did was nothing short of amazing after it's stumble out of the gates. I supported all 3 consoles last gen BTW. The PS3 just has clearly had the stronger finish.

Imagine comparing two razor blade factories : even if one sells slightly more razors than the other, it is the one hich clearly sold more blades and Blade Live subscriptions that won.
