The Wii does not = , > the PS2,PS3,360 because they are NOT THE SAME!!

• The PS2 was made what , 8 years ago ? OBVIOUSLY THE WII WILL BE MORE POWERFULL the comparison threads are stupid !
• I'd argue that the Wii's in a league of it's own , it's not in direct competition with the 360 and PS3 . Many Wii owners( who are also hardcore gamers) are PSWii or Wii360. I can't imagine anyone settling with the Wii alone for current gen gaming.
• STOP making threads about wether the Wii can play 360/PS3 games , NO IT CAN'T ( well without some severe degrading) how many mini's do you see with Ferrari engines in em ?.
• I don't think the 360 or the PS3 (unless you wanna compare the PS3 with sony's last console) should be seen as doing badly simply because the Wii is doing good , I read some where on this site that the 360 has significantly better attach rates than the Wii, wouldn't this imply that a higher percentage of 360 and PS3 owners are different kinds of gamers ?(hardcore gamers maybe) THEY AREN'T IN THE SAME MARKET.
• Up until recently the 360 and the PS3 where much more expensive than the Wii , at launch I coulda bought multiple Wii's for the price of the PS3 , why ? BECAUSE THEY AREN'T IN THE SAME BLOODY MARKET.
• A grandma , 40 , 35 year old doesn't walk into a shop and say "oh the Wii's are sold out , i'll buy a 360 instead because it's equally cheap) a large % of Nintnedo's market aren't

IF PS3 , XBOX 360 , PS2 VS WII IS AN ACCEPTABLE COMPARISON THEN SO IS SKODA VS FERRARI OR FOOTBALL VS BASKETBALL , IPOD VS CHEAP IMPORTS.

GRANTED SOME OF THEY'RE CUSTOMERS ARE THE SAME PEOPLE BUT I'D BET A LARGE % OF NINTENDO'S CUSTOMERS WOULD NEVER BUY A PS3 OR 360.

I know i'll probably get flamed to hell but the satisfaction of getting this off my chest was and is well worth it.

 Ok, I don't have time to read all the responses, but here's my 2 cents:

1. Yeah, I agree with you, but people have every right to compare them, and that doesn't mean that the threads are stupid, they could be comparing trends since launch or some similar scenario.

2. Others would argue that the Wii is competing directly with the 360 and PS3. I personally think that it is a great compliment to my PS3, but I know plenty of people who are more than content with only owning a Wii.

3. Of course the Wii can't play 360 and PS3 games without some loss of content/quality. The hardware just isn't as powerful. The Wii doesn't need to, though, because it has great games of its own.

4. If I remember correctly (feel free to correct me if I remember wrong), the PS3 had a lower attach rate than the Wii. It isn't just about hardcore/casual gamers, though the Wii is certainly getting a much broader audience than the PS3/360. The Wii still releases games for more "hardcore" gamers.

5. Or, it could be that the Wii just has less complex hardware, and costs less to manufacture than the 360 and PS3.

6. To be honest, I'm not sure I understand this bullet. Can anyone help me out?

Last time I checked, people do compare b-ball and football. I'm not sure about cars, because I'm not really into cars.

 Doesn't that kindof contradict the rest of your arguement? (By the way, the "they're" you used is incorrect. That would be like saying "Granted some of they are customers..." -sorry about that, but I can't help it. I make mistakes as well; there might even be a few in this post.)
