Will SSBB affect the sales of relevant games? Mario/Metroid/Sonic/Wario?...

Um....correct me if I'm wrong, but the non-related games increased as well. Couldn't this just be a case of more consoles in the channel means more games sold, regardless of franchise or publisher.
