So the 5 games in the GoW Saga weren't in HD and all have trophies rather then 4000 GS? The only difference is that Halo is a multiplayer game and GoW in mostly single player. Also, hiding beta access behind a 60 dollar collection is not effort, it is the very definition of a cash grab.

It is not the same thing at all. The production value and the content of the MCC is just way bigger. And they are not just "remastering" the game in HD (Halo 2) they are actually redsigning all levels like they did with Halo: CE Anniversary... Add the beta key (I do not see why this is bad as you seem to imply) + Nightfall and you got a really good deal/package for 60 bucks... Calling Halo a "multiplayer" game and ignoring the huge scale of the SP/story is showing how little you know about the Halo universe/games.
Everything is a cash grab (please stop calling for "definition" like yours was more accurate than any others).
