If I'm really stuck, I'll try and look it up. Many times, looking up the answer is followed by a "wow... that was obvious... and I didn't realize it?" so and then I move on.
When it comes to games like Roller Coaster Tycoon or The Sims, I'll usually cheat because I just want to have fun and not bother with all the other crap of money and stuff. For example in Roller Coaster Tycoon, I don't want to bother with all of the other stuff, so I'll build a flat and large level and give myself unlimited money so I can just have fun building whatever I want.
When it comes to online games, no cheating for me and I dislike it when people cheat. It's very annoying in a game like Counter-Strike where from one side of the map, a cheater picks off (through all the walls and such) everybody on the opposing team on the other side of the map with headshots within the first 10 seconds of the round. Yesterday, I saw a sniper in TF2 strafing back and forth quickly with no actual time to aim or charge up a shot, yet 100% of his kills were headshots.
