Nintendo can "win" E3 but it won't make any difference to the fate of the Wii U.
There's just not enough people willing to buy a more family/kid-centric console that has little third party support even if it gets 4-5 really nice Nintendo exclusives in a good year. Kids don't even want it, they want "Calladooty" because that's what their older brother is playing.
The console business is all about big, violent IP for kids/teenagers/college males who like to play on big TVs. Nintendo lost too much credibility with that crowd last gen.
The softer casual audience Nintendo was having success with a few years ago got tired of motion controls and are happy getting their gaming fix from easy to play/button free smartphone/tablet games nowadays.
That leaves Nintendo with only their core fan base.
