This must be the passage which confused you: "No matter how rich the Wi-Fi mode is, to strengthen it at the cost of one of Nintendo gaming's most beloved pastimes - good ol' four-player Mario Kart - is downright wrong. " They aren't saying that there's no 4-player splitscreen, they're just saying that the 4-player local game suffers to accomodate 12-player online game. They don't like the AI getting in the way of multiplayer matches, and they mention that you can turn off the AI players, but only 2-4 players on a course feels empty when the course is designed for 12. So 4-player splitscreen is still there, it's just that the game isn't designed around it anymore. |
Ah yes, right you are, I didn't readit carefully enough.
