What I'm saying is that many publishers have two options, make a Wii game, or a PS3/360(/PC) game to balance out economically, and many will decide to go for the later, because they can get so much more out of it |
How would you get more out of developing for either the 360 or PS3? Its not as if they have similar architectures. It takes a fairly significant investment to port a game from one to the other and it would cost the same to port the Wii anyway. Reducing texture & video quality to Wii standards is very easy to do so that is not the issue. By the same token, I could design a game for the Wii and simply create much higher quality textures and video so that I can port to other consoles if I wish to do so but again, this costs more money and time. I could just as easily make 2 games for the Wii for the same cost.
Edit: The only possible exception (again) is if I can make a 360/PC port which is actually much easier to do since MS gives the libraries with the dev kits.
