Sorry for asking this but, when you say "windows disk management" you do really mean it, right? 

Also, how big is the new HDD?

disk management is where you goto check your HDD and i know sometimes you have to enable it, mine isnt showing at all. heres a pic of what the disk management looks like

That's weird. I know Windows have troubles recognizing bigger HDDs, I suffered that with my 3 and 4TB disks, but with a small one there shouldn't be problems.

Under you CD drive isn't any other disk showing that doesn't have letter? Otherwise I'm affraid that I can't help. You'll have to wait for zarx or Permalite, who know more about PCs than me.

no theres non, its in bios but not in windows 7

if it doesnt work i will buy a usb enclosure and do it that way to keep backup files what i needed it for most
