A multiplayer action-RPG with a low barrier of entry, an accessible turnbased RPG, various co-op games (shooters, racers etc.), these are just some examples of IPs that could work. They aren't really new ideas (NSMB Wii wasn't either), but if no company is making such games, then there is untapped demand. You just need to stop thinking within the known boundaries and stop assuming that Nintendo already did everything that was possible on the original Wii. Heck, you often complained that Nintendo didn't put out many games that used Motion Plus. Besides, the Wii was versatile, so motion controls weren't a requirement. The question can also be turned around to ask if you believe that Nintendo has covered every possible existing genre with their Wii portfolio. Did the Wii have everything you could have asked for? As for Kinect, I don't understand your question. You'll have to elaborate. |
you didnt understand my question. I asked what new IPS could Ninty have made with the WIIMOTE that couldnt really be done with traditional controllers. Those IPs you mentioned are fine but that could be done with standard hardware and controller. Can you elobarate on those IPs? because you say no company is making them, but yes they are. Maybe not for WIi U but for other systems. So the demand is being met, somewhere else. I think you need to stop assuming Ninty lives in a bubble and other consoles and gaming devices dont exist. Yes i complained about motion plus, they didnt need to make motion plus only games, just have it as an option they didnt even do that. Contrast that to say the MOVE sure, it wasnt sexy, or even popular or even had a lot of MOVE only games but it had a LOT of games that used Move way more than motion plus did. Thats what I wanted.
Wii didnt come close to having everything i asked for. It wasnt just about missing existing genres, but other factors that i wont get into because i will stay on the subject of genres. Hell the genres that did exist werent that great. It FPSs for instance but those games paled in comparison to what was offered by the other 2 consoles and PCs. Now one could argue that we are talking strictly about Wii here. BUt i for one and im sure i can speak for a few others, cant and wont act like the others dont exist. The PS3 for me pretty much delivered where the Wii didnt which is why im not so upset about it.
As for Kinect you say 2.0 didnt have an impact becasue it was just seen as an updated Kinect and not as new or exciting? But wouldnt the same hold true for a new Wii that just used updated controllers? I cant imagine a system like that actual flying off the shelves.
