PS4s boost was bigger because of all the heavy marketing that it got, some people probably even interpreted it as a PS4 exclusive due to the marketining. Also, Xbox One would have probably gotten a bigger boost if it wasn't just before the Kinectless version is available, people will have waited for that version. And your comment about Xbox One and Wii U crushing PS4 is completely unnecessary ![]() |
No one is interpreting Watchdogs as a PS4 exclusive. Watchdogs is primary on the PS4 because it has the extra DLC and has the best graphics of all the consoles. The majority of gamers on consoles are multiplat gamers and the same gamers who Sony grew off the back of Microsoft will go to where the word of mouth of the system with the superior multiplats tend to go these days. Its not like the PS2 era where it was only because third party was in abundance on the PS2. This time its about people choosing between two extremely similar consoles and one having a better price and specs, including perks for buying the console. Word of mouth is passing between core gamers to casual gamers that the PS4 is the superior console and the price helped in the beginning.
Now Microsofts marketing with COD, there were plenty of people who actually believed that was exclusive. I cannot believe how many people i've had to tell that game was on the PS3. Its astounding how one sided Microsofts marketing of COD was last gen.
