this is what this game needs to be....

This game, Playstation ......., cant just be a smash bros clone anymore. It has to more than that, or dont bother. IT has to be a least three games in one.

First, a tag fighting game with damage bars, cool and funny "Fatalities", and customizable special attacks and finishers. Runes and loot system. points per kill, assists, fatalities, and more. Even if you lose, you still get some points.

Second, kart racing game with same characters as in the fighting game. Similar mechanics, damage bars, and you are out of the race if your kart takes too much damage. Kill points, same as above. You unlock better weapons and karts parts with points earned. A prestige system with really cool visual rewards.

Last, a tower defense or moba style arena. THINK DUNGEON DEFENDERS and SMITE. Third person camera. Each characters have their own towers based on their own universe. This can be coop or competitive, but always battling for points. Nathan Drake can be a person shooter, Kratos a melee machine, Sly a stealth assassin...

too expensive. I know. Thats why i say this has be a free-to-play game that never ends. always adding more content, more karts, towers, fatalities, etc..

Also, this game has to have its own universe, its own characters, its own heroes and villains. Like Apokolips in DC comics. A planet or galaxy, obsessed with games.
