People don't want the Wii U game pad because no one has done anything good with it, besides Zombi U, and the fact the damn thing dies too easily.
If Nintendo had a successful game that used the game pad in ways that actually gave a purpose to having the damn thing, it probably wouldn't be as bad off. Then they could just add a model with a far better battery life and all is good.
Coincidentally, I haven't heard as much about the Fatal Frame game for Wii U? It seems like the perfect use for the game pad, using it to control the in game camera. Also, Nintendo are damned fools for not releasing the Wii U with at launch Pokemon Snap. It would have shown how the game pad could add to a game instead of being a mediocre/useless element.
