It doesn't need to be a direct sequel (not that I wouldn't want that as well) since I hear from a lot of people that TLoU was a perfect standalone game and a sequel would ruin it somehow (O_o) but the universe has huge potential and there can be countless other stories told within it. There could be as well a prequel, telling the story of early Joel which sounds super interesting. There could be a lot of genres which would fit the games, another TPP action adventure game, full out survival horror, RPG, open world game, MMO.

Fortunately the game sold big enough numbers that I hope, even if ND would not want to work on another game, Sony would simply force it, as it's an IP with potential of easily selling well north of 5 million copies. But Sony done stranger things in it's history, so I can never be sure...
